Post QSC procrastination appears to have hit many in the group. Is that you?
We continue to use our QSC Facebook Group to share our latest blogs but the number has dwindled. Personally, I am motivated by the fact I want my blogs on the weekly list, yet, knowing myself like I do and the tendency to procrastinate, I decided the next step for me after the Quick Start Challenge was to find an accountability partner or coach, so I would not fall into the habit of procrastination.
I found the 30 day Productivity Challenge at boldproductivity.com, a program offered by Tina Williams.
My first challenge with this new adventure was to sign up for Periscope and follow Tina on Twitter so I could be live with her #miraclemorning productivity scope. Ah the dreaded technology! An interesting thing occurred. I was able to download Periscope to my phone and found my Twitter password. When I got into Twitter I decided to follow individuals in various fields, like internet marketing, motivation, authors, health, law of attraction, tennis (that was the fun category for me) and low and behold I started getting these notifications that so and so is now following me! I decided this is another avenue for me to get known so I sent out a few tweets and re-tweeted a few. The hashtag thing is still confusing to me but like everything new, I will eventually get accustomed to it.
Somehow I did not get the notice this morning when Tina went live for her miracle morning so I had to listen to the replay. For anyone who tends to procrastinate, I would recommend listening to this replay on Katch. Tina says to overcome and beat procrastination, you need to know why you are procrastinating. Here’s a recap of the “whys” she discusses:
- Being a Perfectionist (imperfect action is better than none!)
- Wrong project–should belong to another person (delegate!)
- You don’t know the Steps to complete project
- Lack of Interest in Project
- Can’t see the higher purpose of the Project
- Too Big of a Task (chunk it down!)
- You don’t have the right tool/knowledge
One of my favorite coaches, Dr. Janeen Detrick, once told me the following when I said I was having a problem with procrastinating… Procrastination is making a choice to do something else! Now I understand “why” I am choosing something else!
This all ties in nicely to the Faith Based Training Call by Sean Mize that I listened to this week. He pointed out that we may feel our spiritual life is good but if our business is not doing what we want it to, that we may need to start following God in our business – not just our life – and it will transform our business! I tie this to #5 above, Can’t see the higher purpose of the Project…
If I am not helping people by what I am doing, then I simply do not want to do it! That is my intent with this blog! I want to provide information, motivation, products and services that will help people set up their blog and their business, and use blogging to share their product or service, that will in turn help people!
I thank you for taking the time to read my posts and I look forward to helping you in the future! As always, love to hear your comments!
You are right, you cannot do it alone, you need a team for inspiration and guidance..but I will have to say something, and I hope it doesn’t come across as bad or anything like that.
I know that people help and motivate, but after you have your motivation, you do. You take action. You already know, start doing. Take the point one from Tina, being a perfectionist…
Isn’t it time to paint the canvas that you have in front of you? Isn’t it time you start creating and painting? The world is yours, paint your way to success..
Carlos
Thanks for your comment Carlos and you are right!! Trying to make things perfect is one of the causes of procrastination…one of the reasons why people do not take action! So turning any one of these excuses around will take you away from procrastination to productivity…so paint your picture, put up your website, make a video–it does NOT have to be perfect–just do it! (As Nike would say!)
Hello, Barbara
I fully agree with you – spirituality is important even in our business. As we recognize our calling, we can definitely move towards our higher purpose, and stick with it.
You are awesome!

Hi Sue, thanks so much for your comment! You are awesome too! I saw your blog plan post which is such a great idea, but another one of your posts caught my eye…Lift your spirit… that video, Millionaire Mind-I say yes to success, is awesome! I am posting it on one of my FaceBook Pages called AskActAttract. You have found your calling for sure!
Hi Barb,
Our goal should always be to help others and that is exactly what your doing which is fantastic.
I like the nice green color you have on your blog too.
Keep up the excellent work 🙂
Hi Shane, Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I noticed your site had blue in it and was delighted to find a report on colors in your business. I am happy with green knowing it is calming but will check out the other colors too! Looks like you are also attaining the goal of helping others. Again, thanks for your kind comment and hope you will visit again 🙂
Hello Again Barbara,
You’re almost on a one woman crusade to keep QSC going. The cynical amongst us might say Dean is going to be happy (you cueing up potential QSC4 buyers or getting people on standby for the QSC3 resellers), but I know that it’s really the best thing to do to keep mutual support going.
Supporting others is a great self motivator as you always want to have fresh content for others to read. Make sure you set time aside for your own content as well as encouraging others though.
Keep up the great work.
Regards,
Steven Lucas
