The dreaded task of creating my first video has been completed!
Thank you God for helping me get through this task! I could have used a little help in keeping my eyes focused on the viewer. Maybe I was looking up to you as the viewer since I did not look at the camera (or in this case my phone!) too much. LOL that will hopefully get better the next time!
I did not prepare a script for this video as I wanted it to be natural as possible. Only looked at the names Dean Holland, Craig Crawford and Robert Phillips, Quick Start Challenge creators, because I did not want to mess up their names due to my nervousness!
Once the video was created I had to figure out how to get it to YouTube. Wow, my phone actually had a button that says share on YouTube! Oops, looks like I need to create a Channel! Task done, video now on YouTube.com!
By getting out of my comfort zone I have accomplished creating a video (never mind that I will probably forever be embarrassed by it) and uploading it online (including all the techie stuff that frustrates me). Miracles do happen!
Whether you are taking the Quick Start Challenge, starting a business or doing something new in your life that you have dreaded or been afraid to do…get out of your comfort zone and do it!
As a reminder, as you watch this video, forgive the amateur production and know the comments are sincere!
Nice to see you successfully completing this Week 2 Challenge Barb, and I like the clear text in your Blog as well. I’m changing mine so that I can see it better.
I’m officially Retired, and I’ve been playing around on line saying that I was starting a business, but never actually going firm on what model of IM I would follow. As a result, maybe like you, not getting very far. Having to meet these set tasks is great for me too – I need pushing to break through……… Here we go!

It was definitely getting out of my comfort zone to do the video! I can agree with you that I need pushing to break through and that is what is so good about this Quick Start Challenge!
Hi Barb,
Great job… Can totally relate to not wanting to get in front of the camera… You mentioned you sell insurance in your ‘regular’ job… I used to do that years ago myself 🙂
Anyway, just wanted to stop by and check out your video… Keep up the good work… You’re going really well by the looks so far 🙂

Hi Lynne,
Thanks for stopping by and for your comments! I hope to replace the “regular job” with my online business within the next 12 months. It is difficult keeping focused but I am sticking to the plan! The Challenge is a big help. I took a peek at your video and you did a great job…very natural. All the success with your business and the challenge!
You don’t seem nervous to me. You look like you are enjoying it. And you are taking regular action, I just was looking at the blogroll, most people don’t have comments on, didn’t complete the video task yet, did not install commentluv etc. I wonder how many will complete all 4 weeks’ worth of tasks.
And you are also in a sales career, insurance sales is a hard sell. You will find much of one-on-one sales skills translate well online too.
Looking forward to see your progress and future updates! 😀

Hi Ozer…thanks for your kind comments! I have been wading my way through the blogroll to comment on as many blogs as I can. It does take time to read & watch videos and make a comment of value. It appears to me that this is a very active group and I have gotten a lot from the comments…including the commentluv! I am determined to make it through this challenge! BTW I liked that you used google hangout for your video. One of these days I will give that a try! I will look forward to see future updates to your site also!
Hey Barb,
Great video – you appear very bright and well spoken. I have yet to do my own “VLOG” post as it were. Simply, because I want to find the “Ideal” location. Yes it sounds like procrastination…but as I am on the road quite often, it does get a little hard to do video’s. Anyways…well done for taking action…your a natural 🙂

Hey Col, thanks for your comments. I understand about procrastination and I am using this Quick Start Challenge to turn that into perseverance! I think with consistent action we can do this! I have to get it into my head that it does not need to be perfect…rather just do it (as Nike said)!
Hey Barb,
Great job! Good quality and the audio is excellent, not to mention your message is solid. I also have a “service” day job. I sell real estate, and am also looking to make a business on the internet. See you inside the FB Group. Cheers!

Hey Barbara, Great job. Getting out of your comfort zone is not an easy thing to do, but I think that you are a natural. I wish you much success with your journey and will be looking forward to working with you.

That’s a brilliant video Barbara – Way better than when I first started.
…and no script… that’s excellent. I need to plan and script mine otherwise I find that I ramble on endlessly and then need hours to edit it down.
It is so great to be part of a group full of so many action-takers.

Kevin you are way too kind! This is a tremendous group…wish I could respond to all! I am really getting tremendous value and great information from the challenge and the feedback in the facebook group!
One more thing Kevin…I appreciate your explanation of google analytics. You made it super simple for someone who is not techie. Thanks! I tried to reply to your comment on your site but it would not accept my post… got a message about cookies, etc.
Hello Barbara — Great video!
I am glad to see you taking the challenge and overcoming obstacles which pretty much are self created by many, but not for you. You did it all without a script, and I applaud you for that. I do my videos without a script, but we do need one. On my videos, my eys go all over the place as I try to remember what I was trying to talk about, ha.
I am glad you are taking action…

Hi Barb,
I enjoyed your video. You are at ease and comfortable, your diction is clear and I am so glad you did not use a script, but just spoke from the heart. You might well have dreaded making the video, but now it is done and each subsequent one will just get easier.
Anyway, you sell insurance, so you know how to sell, and presenting yourself is 90% of the art of making a video and you did that very well.
I look forward to seeing you in week 3 of The Quickstart Challenge.

Barb –
I found your website to be quite interesting. Your WordPress theme makes it look quite professional. I like your style of personal writing and your video also seemed that way too! Adding some inspirational videos and quotes is a nice touch. I also appreciated the tip about the CommentLuv plugin.

I notice you just put a few lines and then put “keep reading”. I think as I add more blog posts I might do that too. Looks good! Wish you all the best with the challenge and your business!
Hi Barb,
Well done for having the courage for doing your video as part of the Quick Start Challenge. You did a great job.
I agree with what you said in the video about how we need to take action and actually do the business.
As many of us, including myself have gone through that stage where we get stuck in the “getting ready to get ready” stage.
Great to see your taking action 🙂
Hi Shane…thanks for taking the time to review my video! I don’t know if it was the QSC program itself or if the timing was just right with me, but the Quick Start Challenge motivated me to take action. And although the program is now over, I am continuing my blog and learning process to grow an online business and help others to do the same!
